Mountaineering Ireland’s Annual General Meeting will take place as an online-only meeting on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 at 7.00pm. Delegates will be able to participate via Zoom, while others will be able to watch the meeting live on YouTube.

Mountaineering Ireland strongly encourages all clubs to avail of their voting rights by nominating two delegates to attend the AGM. Clubs with more than 50 members are entitled to nominate additional delegates based on their number of full members. Individual members also have voting rights and are encouraged to register to attend. Further details on registering for the AGM will be published on www.mountaineering.ie  in advance of the meeting and emailed to Club Administrators.

Motions and Nominations

Mountaineering Ireland clubs and individual members are invited to put forward motions for discussion at the AGM, and also to nominate members for two vacancies on the Board of Mountaineering Ireland. To maintain our compliance with Government requirements regarding gender balance on boards, both these positions need to be filled by women. It would be preferable if the nominees were women from hillwalking clubs.

The Board of Directors is responsible for maintaining oversight of all Mountaineering Ireland’s activities. Board members are elected for a three-year term, and may be re-elected. The current Chair of the Mountaineering Ireland Board, David Pollard is coming to the end of his three-year term and is willing to go forward for re-election. All other Board members are part-way through their term.
