Day Pass

A Mountaineering Ireland Day Pass insures you to take part in a hiking, climbing or mountaineering activity for a single day without becoming a member. It is suitable for hiking groups, climbing competitions, events and anyone who would like to join in on the day.

How it works

• Anyone can buy a Day Pass, for today or for a date up to 12 months ahead.
• A Day Pass is valid until midnight at the end of the date you choose.
• You can buy passes for more than one day in a single purchase. One pass is issued per person per day.
• A Day Pass is not a membership. It does not include a membership card, a login to this website or access to the members only area.
• Anyone under 18 will need to provide parent or guardian consent and contact details.

Conditions
An MI member with the appropriate competence* and/or an NGB-accredited qualification is insured when leading non-commercial walks or climbs, provided all other participants are either MI members or have purchased a Day Pass.

*Appropriate competence is a matter of judgement for both the leader and the participant. Assessing and providing sufficient levels of site specific knowledge, first aid, safeguarding (if applicable) and currency of skills are ongoing responsibilities for both parties.

There are no bulk discounts or family passes.

Buying a Day Pass

Complete the short form with the details of the person the pass is for and the date or dates you need it. You will be shown the price before you pay. Payment is taken securely by our payment partner, Global Payments.

Once payment is complete you will receive a confirmation email containing the Day Pass holder's name, the Day Pass number (in the format MIDP followed by a number) and the date or dates the pass is valid for. Please keep this email, as you may be asked for your Day Pass number.
